Embroidered patchwork wall-hanging in Liverpool Quaker Meeting House

photo of patchwork

In 2001, Moragh Bradshaw completed an embroidered patchwork wall-hanging for the Meeting House which hung at the bottom of the stairwell of the Paradise Street meeting house. The large words are visible, but there are also some fine cursive words embroidered round the inner of the two blue borders. Round the left, top and right are words from the first of Advices and Queries:

Take heed, dear Friends, to the promptings of love and truth in your hearts. Trust them as the leadings of God whose light shines in our darkness and brings us new life.
Along the bottom is written:
The light for which the world longs is already shining
